A special delivery of a Steinway grand piano took place at Leeds Town Hall on 11 December.
The piano made its way into the hall on the piano lift. It then was pushed up a ramp, with help from a piano lifting machine, to get onto the stage.
The three legs and pedals were attached. It was then flipped over to its normal position and wheeled into the middle of the stage.
It was inspected and tested by Katie, Senior Music Officer, who performed an extract from Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. It now takes pride of place on the stage where it will be tuned and examined by Steinway, ready for its first concerto on 12 January, performed by pianist Eric Lu, Leeds International Piano Competition 2018 winner.
