Wed 3 February
Leeds Town Hall
Leeds Lunchtime Chamber Music
Chris Roberts - guitar
Seth Bye - fiddle & accordion
What do the middle ages, polyrhythmic interplay, and British folk traditions have in common? They all have a home in the capable hands of Filkin’s Drift. As “exquisite tune playing” and “irresistible grooves” combine, Seth and Chris’ diverse musical influences come together to create a truly unique fiddle and guitar sound.
The duo have been productive during lockdown. Their ‘tune a week’ project has seen them collaborating with musicians from across the globe including Angharad Jenkins (Calan), Dan Walsh, Ruth Keggin, and Ellie Gowers. You can watch the whole 34 weeks here.
As the doors of live music venues creaked back open in late summer 2020, Filkin’s Drift were amongst the first to take the stage. Performances at Little… but LIVE, Centrala, accompanied the release of their eponymously titled debut EP, as well as an outdoor live session with 13-piece band.
The pair are strong believers in music for all. To that end, they are just as at home performing for babies and toddlers, and in hospitals and care homes as they are in public theatres and folk clubs nationwide.
Programme duration approximately 50 mins.
Please note this will be a live audio stream and the information about how to access it will appear here on the day.
