Korngold’s Violin Concerto marries cinematic style with the concert hall in an unashamedly romantic work for solo violin and orchestra. Writing in 1940s Hollywood, from the hearttugging opening theme to the lively final movement, Korngold blends big tunes with shimmering orchestral textures to create a work ranked as one of the best concertos of its time.
