Our research exploring LGBTQ life and community in four cities (Manchester, Brighton, Plymouth and Leeds) since 1965 has found very different urban queer cultures. Discussing bedsits in Brighton, communal households in Leeds and gay gentrification in Manchester, this talk will show how the distinct character of LGBTQ politics in each city has shaped its queer domestic lives. This event will coincide with LGBTQ History Month.
This event is part of the Leeds Cultural Conversations series organised by the Centre for Culture & the Arts at Leeds Beckett University.
