Reverie

A programme of beautifully melodic and virtuosic short pieces that showcase the different colours and character of the cello and piano repertoire. Hear music from different eras; Baroque, Classical and Romantic up to today. Travel the world through music from France, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Hungary, Russia and more.

This concert will last approximately 50 minutes.

Pavlos Carvalho has enjoyed success on the competition platform including first prizes in Koblenz, Germany and Taneev, Russia. He has performed as solo and chamber musician in venues including the Purcell Room, Royal Albert Hall, Cadogan Hall and the Teatro dal Verme, Milan and recorded for the BBC. A big part of Pavlos’ musical life also involves outreach and education working for groups such as Live Music Now, Pied Piper, and In Harmony, and since 2018 has been director of the Pro Corda cello course.

Andrew Quartermain is CEO and Artistic Director of Pro Corda Trust, one of the largest music charities and course providers in Europe.  Pro Corda is the leading provider for chamber music education in the UK and, since 2006, has seen major expansion to now include among many diverse activities Pro Corda’s flagship series for children with disabilities which Andrew founded. As a pianist, Andrew has collaborated with some of the world’s leading artists and was a prize winner at the Guildhall where he studied after Cambridge.
